The Brave Battles

The Revolution

In early March and for the next three months we started some secret activity. When June came one Saturday Mr. Jones went into Willingdon and got drunk he didn’t come back till Sunday. We still were not fed and we got sick of it! A cow broke down the door to the shed and all of us helped ourselves to the food. Mr. Jones and four of his men came into the shed with whips. We attacked the men and after a moment they took off down the road while we ran after them excited that we completed the rebellion Old Major predicted would happen.

Death to Frederick
Latasha Manning

Our leader comrade Napoleon was the brave leader against the battle with Mr. Frederick and his men. As we all were eating breakfast the humans came and attacked our farm. We were faced with fifteen men with half a dozen guns! The rest of the animals fell back but our good Napoleon. It took the other animals till after Mr. Frederick and his men put powder in the windmill and it tumbled to ground. We lost a cow three sheep and two geese in this battle, but the men were hurt too. Napoleons good thinking of sending the dogs beneath the bushes and coming out behind them caught them off guard and they retreated quickly. So thanks to our wonderful leader Napoleon we had another great defeat and the farm is still ours.

OLD MAJOR’S SPEECH

BY NAPOLEON
Stacy Proctor

In the mid-night, three nights ago – Old Major called a meeting and generously shared with us a dream he had had that night. A dream of rebellion, a dream of us being free. Unfortunately, he has passed on today but by his wishes, in here to carry-on and make his dream come true. Comrades, as you’ve heard, man is our only enemy. Why? You may ask. Because he doesn’t give the milk, he doesn’t lay eggs, and he certainly doesn’t plough but he does indeed take everything for granted. My friends, here at the Manor Farm we are not receiving the essential things we need and deserve! I must lead this dream rebellion and I must do it soon. This can and will finally be my farm…I mean our farm – the Animal Farm!

BENDING THE RULES
BY BENJAMIN

Fellow animals! What is more important in successful societies than rules that you must follow? In order to have a well-rounded society, you must follow by rules. But what happens when the rules that were made are too strict for the animal that made them? They must bend them for their preference. Animals, we’ve been learning to read and we know what the rules were and what they are now. We haven’t forgotten words, they have been added. Napoleon, our own leader, has been having Squealer change them on us! A few weeks ago, about 12 o’clock when we heard that crash, I was curious so I went out and that’s when I seen it, with my very own eyes. Squealer, beside a broken ladder by the Seven Commandments wall, lay on the ground with a paint and paintbrushes – im sure you seen it too! He was very stunned to see us, almost as if he was guilty. I knew immediately that I was the only one who understood what was happening exactly, but I refused to say anything. But animals, we need to put a stop to this before it’s too late!

Napoleon and Dogs Prosecute Animals on Farm!

Late Last night, Napoleon had called all of the animals on the farm in the yard for a meeting which turned into a bloody one. Napoleon convinced many animals to tell what they had done wrong, or what they disobeyed while on the farm in the past months. Not knowing what trouble they would be in after confessing there secrets, the animals told them what they did wrong, and they were beaten and teared to shreds by the nine vicious puppies. It was the most terrifying thing I have ever watched in my whole life while on the farm. At the end of the night, there laid many animals piled up from surrending to there wrong doings, that now lie dead and rotting on the ground. Now animals may realize now that they should just keep to themselves and not admit to there wrong doings anymore.

Boxer: It was a about midway through the season of milling when Napoleon decides that there is not enough food on the farm for the us animals when really it was only for Napoleon and the pigs in the barn so napoleon was going to the next resource on the farm which were the hens. The Hens were working hard with trying to lay eggs for Napoleon when they decided that they shouldn’t let him push them around and steal something that should be in there possession. They tried to find a way to not let this happen. So the Hens all tried to go against Napoleon so he wouldn’t be able to steal there eggs so instead of wasting there eggs on them they took their eggs and smashed them on top of the roof just to get back at him for trying to take stuff away from them. But they realized after doing so that wasn’t such a good idea because Napoleon got very angry with the hens. Napoleon got so angry that he had the dogs go and slay all the hens that were involved in all of this while the other hens were scared out of there wits and knew not to ever do that again, and the other animals on the farm including me (boxer) had to watch all of this take place so he knew we wouldn’t want to ever pull anything like that either or that will happen to us.

Boxer: 11 years old; was a beloved and hardworking animal (horse) on Manor & Animal Farm his whole life. He never gave up, and everyone on the farm loved and cared for him. Sadly Boxer fell one evening while working on the windmill and he didn’t have enough strength to get up, so all the animals were told that boxer was taken to a vet, but later found out that he was taken to a slaughter house, and was never seen again. He is someone that will never be forgotten. He was my best friend, but I know he is in a better place now.

Hens: It is sad to have to announce that nine hens were killed at Animal Farm earlier this week. They were protesting against there major Napoleon to not have there eggs sold. Napoleon prosecuted them by starving them until they died. They were big helpers to the farm, and produced a lot of eggs for there far. They will be greatly missed, and never forgotten. They were my friends and they should have never been treated that way.

Moses: It all started the night when the animals started there rebellion against Mr. Jones, but I was not outside at the time I was in the house with Mr. Jones when he was sleeping. Then all of a sudden we hear this big kabooom in the barn so I flew out immediately to see what was going on. The animals went on a rampage and were going crazy out on the farm, so I flew to the other farms around within that week to tell the other animals what was going on. I suppose that wasn’t such a good idea because then those animals from the other farms started acting up and kicked there owner off the farm also and took over the farm eventually while all the other farmers were still trying to figure out a way to get there farms back to normal. But sadly none of them could and the animals still had the farm in there hands after years and years of trying the farmers finally gave up.
